English Hepplewhite Specimen Wood Reliquary Case Circa 1790

Circa 1790s English Hepplewhite style reliquary box composed of various specimens of wood such as Rosewood,Walnut,Maple, and Satinwood on secondary Oakwood. The box is crafted on the exterior with urn shaped finials, diamond shaped inlaid lightwood trim, and ball shaped feet. The interior of the glass front reliquary box has a raised dais to showcase the relic, framed by carved rounded columns with further diamond motif inlay. The back of the box also features a central Christian cross accented by light and dark wood marquetry. Please note of wear consistent with age including patina, finish loss, and chips. The back two urn shaped finials on the top of the box are missing. Made in England.
