Italian handmade ceramic vide-poche or catchall tray in the vibrant signature blue of Aldo Londi's iconic art pottery collection
Rimini Blu, originally designed in 1959 for Bitossi Ceramiche and imported by Raymor in the 1960s. The cigar ashtray features
a deep blue glaze that varies in turquoise and aqua green shades and undertones and has a marvelous sheen. The hand carved
patterns of lines, dots and Xs on the dish produce a Brutalist mid-century modern aesthetic. The whole is finished in a vibrant
high quality glaze.
Bitossi (or Manifattura Cavaliere Bitossi e Figlia) was founded by Guido Bitossi in Florence, Italy in 1921. The Bitossi Foundation
released the biography of the master Aldo Londi and presented a show dedicated to him, titled “Aldo Londi, a 20th Century Ceramist.”.
