I found these and was just drawn to them. I didn't know what they really were (I'm not a weaver) but after little research I discovered their original purpose as Weaving Shuttles
I thought it was cleaver that someone upcycled them back when upcycling really wasn't a catchphrase but more of something you just did.
I am unsure of the age of the Shuttles but they are marked Southern and the numbers
1345 b51 on one and 1663 13 741 on the other. Also with the image of a person working over a bench with hammer and the words tempered under it. What looks like Stened co. Quality Control. They have Metal tips that could probably be polished up to a shine but I am leaving them as is as it can be hard to get a nice aged patina like that..
I suspect these were crafted into candle holders circa 1960's-1970's based on the style of components used.. The metal on the golden/brass candle holder portions do have some areas of tarnish from age, some scratches and a couple dents, all which adds to the character and story of the pieces. It looks like the maker used tin or aluminum as a reflective strip on the interior. A great décor piece for a textile craftsman or Rustic home or perhaps they could be repurposed back to their original use
unsure of wood type but could be Cherry
Measures 16" long, 4 1/2" deep from edge of candle holder, 3" wide

SHIPPING NOTICE:
Due to Covid and recent delays with USPS, shipping times can be delayed or longer than expected so please keep this in mind if your item is time sensitive.
Also I do not "pre-pack" my items. Due to the unique nature of some of my items and in the case of combined items, I sometimes have to search for boxes that will actually fit the items and allow for enough packing so that they can ship safely and reduce the risk of damage.
Because of that I will pad the weight of the item so even with calculated shipping your actual shipping may be lower. Also I have noticed that even when using Etsy's calculated shipping the results can still be off despite the fact that I get the weight right on target
I also do NOT use "Free Shipping" for most of my items because many of my items are Vintage items of 1 lb or more. Because the cost of shipping will then be "absorbed" into the price of the item. I don't think it's fair for a person living in Washington DC to pay the same as someone living in Washington state for a package over 1 lb. and vice versa. I feel this is the fairest and most transparent way to do shipping
For all of these reasons I will REFUND ANY OVER PAYMENT of shipping for shorter distances, cheaper shipping options and lighter final weight.
I am willing to ship Parcel Post with added insurance to save you on shipping but it is sometimes more expensive once insurance is added or only 50 cents or so less than priority. I will also try to ship flat rate and regional if the size of the item will allow. Please convo me and let me know if you would like to check on other shipping options. Once ACTUAL shipping is determined a refund will be given if it costs less to ship.
Also I am happy to combine shipping however the unique nature of my work finds me living in Los Angeles and Atlanta and I have items in both cities. Please check with me in advance to see if the items you desire are in the same city and if it's possible to combine them to ship
Thank you for your understanding
