Vintage from the 1960s

Festivo candleholders are true icons of the Finnish home. These rough surfaced, ice-like glass candle holders were designed by Timo Sarpaneva 1966, and come in 8 sizes. You might like to get a pair or create a set with different heights like many of us Finns like to do in order to create an eye-catching detail in our home decor.

In the 1960’s round candles were used, nowadays people tend to prefer long and narrow candles. The foot of the Festivo candle holder was originally designed for the Senaattori glass series, and was originally intended by the artist for personal use.

Over the years the design has evolved a bit. Early productions of these candle holders were signed. The current production comes a metal candle cup, which makes them safer. With the original ones you need to be careful not to burn the candles to the end, because the heat might cause a crack in the glass. Vintage Festivo candleholders are wonderful gifts from Finland.
