Substantial country French provincial or Louis XIV style console table or sofa table crafted in a refectory style from solid oak timbers. The top measures 1.5 inches thick and is supported by a trestle base having chunky, turned legs. The legs are conjoined by a gracefully curved stretcher and end with distinctive scrolled feet. The oak has a rich, dark finish that showcases the woodgrains with black ebonized accents on the legs and curved stretchers. The aprons are draped on all sides adding to the sinuous design with attention to detail. The table is heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The proportions are massive giving the table an imposing presence and scale. The oak has a subtle distressed patina to mimic age.
