Sublime 18th century Italian Baroque tilt-top center table featuring a Venetian painted finish decorated with chinoiserie motifs. The table has a scalloped oval top with bold floral designs on a scarlet red ground with chinoiserie figures in parcel gilt. The lacquer finish has vibrant teal, navy, and moss-green colors. The top is supported by a pedestal column ending with four gracefully curved legs and scrolled feet. The tilt-top mechanism functions as intended. The table has a desirable aged, distressed patina on the finish with fading and losses. Provenance: Hendrix-Allardyce installation in the Leonard Estate, Bernadette and Sugar Ray Leonard, Pacific Palisades, CA.
