Incredible black and whitle illustrations highlight this classic
hardcover story book. By Ingri & Edgar Parin d' Aulaire who
were an immigrant husband and wife team who had studied
in Paris, Germany and Norway and illustrated many children's
books for Doubleday & Co. after moving to Brooklyn from
Germany....later settling in Connecticut and had a farm in

After reading the wikipedia about their lives, it left me wanting
to know more about them...fascinating people really, and so
talented...the illustrations are a joy and would also be wonderful
in frames.

The book measures 10" by 8.25", with full page illustrations.

Good condition for its' age. The cover is worn on the corners
and edges. Exterior is faded some and worn, appears to have
been a library book. The are a few tears at the center pages of
one or two pages near the binding.

Incredibly beautiful classic child's book.
