Medium studio pottery jar, wheel thrown in brown stoneware and finished with a warm mustard yellow glaze with brown sprinkles. The base and bottom 1/4 inch has been left unglazed but the inside has been fully covered. Very wide mouth, barely sloping sides with a gentle, bullnose lip. The lid is an enormous piece of natural cork left uncut on top, and sits about half way into the base. So rustic and unique. Maker's mark "Hay" on the underside. Excellent size for a cookie jar, dog treats, homemade granola. If not in the kitchen, would work in the bath, or the nursery. Lovely stash or tobacco jar sitting beautifully as shelf decor.

* Sold separately, I had 2 available and this is the smaller of the 2, as portrayed in the last 3 photos.

Measurements - 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm) high to the top of the lid, 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) wide at the lip, 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm) wide at the base. The cork is 2 inches (5.1 cm) thick.

Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks to the pottery. Wonderfully heavy and tactile. No stains.
