Vintage from the 1910s

Very rare unusual dress made in the 1910s from a Chinese silk piano shawl. Beautiful Canton silk crepe with hand embroidery throughout. Wide sleeves in a kimono style with hanging silk tassels. Bloused bodice beautifully draped, with a fitted, boned attached camisole underneath. There is lace trim peeking out along the neckline, with hidden wiring along nape and side to make the collar stand up. Elegant lace sleeves inside the larger kimono sleeves as well. Wrap style skirt with hidden hook and eye and snap closures. The entire hem is weighted. Beautifully well made. Waist features an ivory silk attached sash with sewn pleats, with a longer sash with braided sections, hanging down in back.

Condition: Great condition especially for its age. Minor overall wear but no detracting flaws. Wearable and gorgeous.
