I bet you didn't know this came in another color besides blue, did ya? Or maybe you knew about the white, but did you know about the black, turquoise and terracotta? And did you know that they are all gloss finished except for the blue, which happens to be the best selling of the line. Do you know why it's in a stoneware finish while the other are gloss? If you do, please tell me because that's the piece of the puzzle I don't know. Why just the blue? Why not the terracotta at least? Terracotta is stone!
To me there's also no doubt that the reason the blue is so well sold is because of its stoneware type glaze. It looks like it was cut right out of the blue mesas that don't exist in the Southwest. Th others, when you pick them up, just feel like heavy glossy plates. Don't get me wrong, I love how smooth the gloss feels but if you're conjuring the Santa Fe vibe, you might as well go all the way. I really do love how the gloss feels, especially when washing them. There's something about their smoothness that feels different.
I'm doing a terrible job of selling these so at this listing you have available the round plates you can find in the set. I found when I did individual listings the picture all looked identical. I myself couldn't remember if the photo was the bread plate or the dinner plate, and that negates the whole reason for doing separate listings. So you can see more pictures of what you're buying. So available here are the Chop Plate, Dinner Plate, and Salad Plate in the Mesa line in White Sand. Dansk did not put a bread plate in this collection. The saucer is the smallest you'll find.
All are in great vintage shape but they have been used. I've done my best cleaning the utensil marks from these but they are white and some of these must have had previous owners that didn't know how to clean utensil marks, I guess. This line is durable and it's rare to find damage, and if you do it's generally a chip or break, not cracks or crazing.
Please note that Etsy does not give us multiple shipping profiles in a listing. They assume all our variations are the same size and weight so I have entered in stats for the Chop Plate. The salad plate is about half its size so in the event you order Salad Plates and pay for the shipping, I will reimburse you any overages.
