An unusual Biedermeier period (1815-1848) Swedish round low table with the most beautiful color and patina! circa 1825
Born in the early 19th century, the Scandinavian Country table features a hand cut wood slab top in stunning burled golden birch radiating parquetry, over hexagonal faceted carved column pedestal, gracefully rising on tri-foot base of three S-shaped curved legs.
A rare and wonderful example, with beautifully aged patina over the whole, this table presents splendidly in a lovely honey color blonde birch wood, richly figured and with superb grain detail. Naturally distressed, weathered, elegantly rustic finish, full of rich antique character and historical charm, having a wonderfully warped three board circular top with lightining and extensive rain drop water mark spots of various size. Age appropriate wear, including charming scattered stains, splits, and country farmhouse character. Very strong, sturdy and stable.
As warm and attractive as it is functional, ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a guéridon, coffee table, chair side or centre cocktail drinks table, bedside nightstand, parlor lamp stand, to name just a few.
