Vintage tilt-back "Porch" chair of Douglas fir plywood with solid birch slats. Readers were provided with schematic drawings, written instructions, and pictures of the finished product. This Organic Design chair, with its gentle curves and frank use of materials, captures the spirit of the early postwar do-it-yourself movement that helped increase awareness of modernist "Good Design" in America. In good original condition, structurally sound, with patina and wear consistent with age and use.
