This is antique, all hand painted plate with a pansy and scroll design with art nouveau and Edwardian elements and a lovely ombre background. Though somewhat naïve in its execution, this piece is quite unusual in its asymmetric blend of lush natural and fantastical design and amazing rich color that has such great panache and personal flair! It has wonderful, if modest, artistic elements that foreshadow elements in creative design and color and the explosive changes that were about to take place in the early 20th century art world!

It measures approximately 9 1/2" in diameter and is unsigned by the artist except by a "Z" or "N" mark but dated "Dec (1)903" on the back.

In very good condition with some wear to the fine gilt finish on the rim and light overall crazing. The glaze has a soft, semi matte finish on the front. There is one mark on the back that appears to be a straight crack but is probably more of a age related craze mark in the glaze as it does not show on the front. This may not be a "crack" at all but just part of the crazing as this may have been a stress point from being in a wall hanger for many years and I don't believe it affects the integrity of this piece.
