ATTIC Alert
Brutalism as an art movement emerged in the mid-20th century, characterized by its raw, unrefined aesthetic and often associated with post-war architecture and design.
The movement is named after the French term 'béton brut', which means 'raw concrete', signaling the emphasis on materials and structural elements in art and architecture.
Over the decades, Brutalist sculptures have been revisited and appreciated for their bold forms and the way they challenge traditional notions of beauty in art.
