History
  • Henning Kjaernulf is recognized for contributing to the Scandinavian design movement, which emerged as a notable style in the mid-20th century, characterized by simplicity and functionality.
  • The primitive brutalist style seen in some of Kjaernulf's works reflects broader trends in the 1960s that appreciated raw, organic materials and a handcrafted look, aligning with a return to nature in design philosophies.
  • Furniture pieces designed around that time often showcased a blend of artistic expression and practical design, which has continued to influence contemporary furniture styles.
