History
  • Henning Kjaernulf is recognized as a notable figure in Danish design, and pieces attributed to him may reflect the evolution of furniture design in the mid-20th century.
  • Brutalist furniture, like that associated with Kjaernulf, emerged in the post-war era, often characterized by its raw materials and unrefined forms, possibly speaking to a reaction against industrial design.
  • The use of oak in furniture design has historical significance, as it has been valued for its durability and aesthetic appeal in various cultures for centuries.
