ATTIC Alert
The origin of garden lions often dates back to ancient cultures, where they were considered symbols of protection and strength.
Lions have been prominent in art and architecture for centuries, commonly found in Europe since the Renaissance, and their use in garden decoration would have gained popularity in the 19th century.
The specific style of garden lions from England in the 1950s may reflect the post-war trend of incorporating bold, classical elements into modern landscapes.
