History
  • The figurines were crafted in the 1940s by the Syracuse Ornamental Company, which is recognized for its contribution to American decorative arts during that era.
  • SyrocoWood, a molded wood-pulp resin, was popular in the mid-20th century, allowing artisans to create detailed, lightweight representations of wooden figures, thereby making art more accessible.
  • These pieces reflect the cultural narratives of their time, often incorporating elements of drama and storytelling from the colonial and pirate eras.
