Tessellated fossil stone and brass coffee table by cestlavintage18
Sophisticated Art Deco cocktail table featuring a brass inlay detail with a stepped skyscraper design on each corner and brass capped legs. It also has an inset glass top with a brass detail surround. This table is often attributed to Maitland Smith or Karl Springer but our research shows it to be in line with the work of Merle Edelman for Casa Bique.
There are some cracks and damage to the stone veneer and small chip to the glass. The pictures of all of the flaws are close ups. The damage is not nearly as apparent and does not detract from its beauty. Extra pictures available upon request.

ATTIC Alert
The Art Deco movement, which flourished from the 1920s to the 1940s, is characterized by bold geometric shapes and luxurious materials, reflecting the design ideals of the era.
Maitland Smith and Karl Springer are known for their contributions to high-end furniture design, often showcasing intricate craftsmanship that may align with similar tables from that period.
Although attributed to several designers, the style suggests a connection to Merle Edelman, whose work is celebrated for its blend of artistry and functionality in furniture design.
