The Thonet style is linked to the early modernist movement, which emphasized the beauty of curves and the craftsmanship of wood-bending techniques, gaining popularity in the 19th century.
Thonet furniture is known for its pioneering use of steam-bent wood, leading to a reduction in the use of heavy materials, which reflected changing design philosophies of the time.
Since its founding in 1819, Thonet has played a significant role in the history of furniture design, known for its innovative approaches and designs that balance functionality with aesthetics.
