History
  • Lucite was first developed in the early 20th century as a versatile plastic, gaining popularity among artists and designers for its clarity and durability.
  • The use of Lucite in sculpture may reflect a broader trend in the mid-20th century, when many artists began experimenting with new materials and forms in their work.
  • Sculptures from manufacturers like Ritts. Co. might be associated with the rise of modern art movements that embraced abstraction and innovative materials during their time.
